About

Emily Layton is a graduate of Georgia Institute of Technology who studied the intersectionality of people and media through her Computer Science degree. She is currently continuing her study through a master’s in Human-Computer Interaction at GT and a career in UX/UI Design.

Growing up, Emily was always interested in people and had a love for creating. She was always curious about the way people behaved and interacted with one another and developed an appreciation for their differences. Pairing this interest with her expanding imagination and artistic ability, led her to pursing a degree in computer science with the hopes of becoming a designer in the technology field.

Emily has worked as a researcher, designer, and developer throughout many group projects, as a developer in Bits of Good, her web development internship at 412 Technology, web design position at DataWorks ATL, UX Design internship at Amazon, and her current project conducting research in the Head Worn Displays Lab on captioning for Deaf or Hard of Hearing individuals. She has developed many technical and design skills and specializes in UX/UI design and research as well as web design and development.
